The City of Sacramento is a major employer and provider of services and programs that should work to advance the well-being of female residents and employees. We are committed to ensuring that elected and appointed officials and staff consistently assess, act and invest to improve the status of women and girls in the City. Our focus areas for 2020 include increasing the supply of quality, affordable child care; advocate for pay equity and equal representation for women in the City’s recruitment and hiring process; advocate for a consistent and safe workplace culture; increase the number and diversity of women on boards and commissions; and ensuring that girls and young women have equal access and participation in City parks and recreation programs.
